According to the researchers from Louisiana State University, a drink of tart cherry juice in the morning and evening may help people sleep better at night, particularly people of old age.

The researchers studied and found that, those who drank Montmorency tart cherry juice twice a day by continuous intake of cherry juice for two weeks, older peoples sleepless nights will be decreased.

The researchers also believed that the regular intake of Montmorency tart cherry juice twice a day for two weeks help increase sleep time by nearly 90 minutes among older adults with insomnia. They claim that this juice if taken twice a day daily, then the sleep disorders in older people can be sorted out.

Researchers found that the ruby red colour pigment of the cherry juice, known as Proanthocyanidin also play a role of sleep enhancing benefits.
